Where can I get my 97.3 KLMH with Kev Bruce at the Top O' th' Mornin' bumper sticker?
ReplyDeleteI am going to listen to this so hard.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard Brent laugh so hard, nor had I heard his special attack "Ice Crunching" laugh. So many good tracks! Hey, you two should do a practice Skype episode....not necessarily for the users, but to prep for the eventual "ORCA" Skype-isodes(Oregon/California--when my San Jose-native buddy and I used to dream about starting a game company, that's the name we came up with). Bonk!
DeleteHa! I love the "ice crunching" description. I think of that one as "the duck." Straight-up Donald style.
DeleteThere is an episode where Brent cycles through his entire repertoire of laughs, but I forget which one. What I do remember is that Rob had tried to pull a "Batman" at the end of a track, but his voice broke on it. This put Brent out of commission for at least a full minute.
Solid jams. This is my favorite Konami Hyper Soccer track, but I think you've played this one before: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbUyMIhHuaQ&list=PL55086DEE87881AEE&index=7
ReplyDeleteMan, that episode straight up took my breath away. And I'm lovin that Ashita no Joe track.
ReplyDeleteThis episode had me laughing my butt off at work.
ReplyDeleteThis episode was so good.
ReplyDeleteWould you guys considering making the answering machine Mame That Chune segment into a regular thing? That was the best.
Also, I can't be the only person who was reminded of Marzipan's Answering Machine from Homestar Runner, right? That connection just made it even funnier.
"Hi Marzipan, it's Strong Sad. I have this new DVD to watch. It has special features like.....running time"
DeleteXD lolololol
Number 2 is Bad Dudes, yeah?
ReplyDeleteBonk episode as always boizzzz. The Super Black Bass track in particular was quintessential LMH!
ReplyDeleteI was losing it at my desk at work so hard listening to this episode, haha. next time I go out, i'll be sure to channel my inner Kev Bruce!
ReplyDeleteThat Super Hockey '94 track is definitely my jam! The incredible way the chord progressions move from one to another through that sweet, sweet bass arpeggiation is just incredible. I also really loved that 90's-style syncopation that happens in the accompaniment during the part at the ~0:38 mark. That section is a little bi-tonal and it pulls it off nicely, with the melody and bass in one tonal area and the accompaniment in another.
With that bass, to me it sounds like one of the two channels it's on has reverb built into it to give it some more body in addition to that stereo effect. It's a super-important part though, so I love how doubling that voice really brings out it's importance.
That all said, the texture is just so damn appealing that I couldn't help but think of that track the entire day. It's all just so catchy and I love it!
Reiterating what others have already said, but I was in stitches at work earlier whilst listening to this.
ReplyDeleteGood job, guys!
man, the "scoreboard groove" from primetime nfl really reminded me of this old jam, I have to wonder if it was a subtle nick by Andy Armer.

"These guys just talk over the first level of Blaster Master."
ReplyDeleteI legit, for real LOL'd.
is probably a basic question. but how can i get these tracks? super hockey 94 ending theme, woah!!
ReplyDeleteAll the resources are on the right hand side of the front page if you scroll down to the "VGM RESOURCES" section!
DeleteI'm guessing they used 2 bass channels on Super Hockey 94 so that the higher "pops" had a slightly different sound than the lower "thumps". That is just my "guess". Thanks as always Brent and Rob F.
ReplyDeletealmost crashed my car. hilarious
ReplyDelete"Compoyour, compoyour?"
ReplyDeleteI lost it!
S in SG here,
ReplyDeleteI was encouraged by a fellow user on Facebook to complete the "Alley Oop" ad-lib Karaoke on this episode, so I did! Hope you all enjoy it!

Wait a minute -- pendaflux is Sentimental in San Gabriel?! SURPRISE TWIST! Unless I was the only one who didn't know this?
DeleteDude, I love your VGM Karaokes, but I didn't think I'd get to tell you directly because I don't use Facebook. Would you consider uploading the back issues to YouTube?
KeyGlyph, not sure if you know, but you don't have to have a Facebook account to check out the LMH Facebook and all the posts. You can access all the videos/VGM Karaokes here, including yours (and you don't have to sign in or anything):

Hi guys! I do know that I can look, and I definitely check the public page -- it's just that I can't post or add likes to anything over there. So, people like SnSG are often unaware of how cool I think they are unless I can identify them here on the "discussion board." Thanks for the heads-up, though!
DeleteHi KEYGLYPH!
DeleteThanks so much for the kind words. I am a huge fan of your VGMK, not to mention how much I appreciate your making those mixtapes. I listen to them all the time when I'm jogging and doing work. I don't know what I'd do without them, except make them myself (I made a few episode-based playlists in the past, but lost them in some iTunes-transfer situation).
I am going to retro-put golf VGMK on Youtube, for sure. Thanks for the encouragement!
