  2. Dr. Rabin has opened the chest cavity, everything's looking good, he just needs to clear the path for the heart swap. Nurses are standing by.

Dr. Rabin has finished prepping the patient's chest cavity.

Dr. Rabin is now Tetris ready.

  3. I remember when I first let Tetris play out its title music; before that I just impatiently pressed Start to bypass those stuffy Russian chords. I was surprised at the feel-good sound of the music beyond the intro, and loved it.

I heard a tie-in with Christmas at the end of "Hips of Illusion": John sings "go-ho-ho" at the end!

  4. Great episode Chiki Boys! That Gunstar Heroes track was particularly jam.

I design spine implants and instruments, and as a part of the job I have to attend surgeries fairly often. In almost all of the surgeries I've seen, the doctors are straight up rocking out to music - and I'm not even talking classical! Most of the doctors I've been with listen to either 80's rock or techno to get pumped up. It's kinda weird, but a lot better than a silent operating room.

Just wanted to share! You guys are the absolute best.

    1. I love knowing this. Also, what an intense job!

To add to the growing body of evidence regarding surgeons rocking out, my husband broke his ankle in three places over the weekend and I asked his surgeon if he listened to music while operating. Not only did he say yes, always (his genre choice: alternative rock), but he also said that he will play requests for patients as they are going under in an attempt to make them feel better. "So for the past year or so," he noted, "any little girl coming in for surgery drifted off happily to the Frozen soundtrack." I thought this was a really sweet, wonderful story.

This surgeon also pointed out that after he beings operating he cannot adjust any musical controls, so sometimes the genre shifts gradually to something else (e.g. classic rock) depending on the tastes of his nurses. Hahaha.

  5. Hilarious episode! I can't even describe how great it is that it surgery/christmas themed.

Thanks for putting me on the showcase! That was so great. I hope to hear more from Cole's musical.

  6. I enjoyed the track list keep it up guys, the jokes about the vasectomy made me laugh! I remember hearing the Tetris Title BGM in some movie called Juice Head from the late 90's to early 2000s that was on the Sci Fy channel. I was surprised when I had heard it, because I remember thinking this is from something, but what. Well I played the game a couple days after and heard it. I swear it wasn't a cover either, right from the Game Boy.

  7. Another slurpee good episode! Just a comment regarding the Finale track from Ogre Battle- you guys can connect another holiday to the show via this track. Nochebuena. In the beginning of the track you can hear the Taco Bell chime, which connects the traditional celebration of Christmas Eve in Spanish countries. I'm surprised Rob didn't catch this. ;O)

  10. I like when Brent remembers things he's heard strangers say, like "down to party" in Racing Games 2 and "Blueberry Hill" in Board Games.

  11. Related to the Silver Surfer track, I realized that Tim Follin put a deliberate phone ringing sound in one of his C64 soundtracks, around the 2:30 mark in this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8FiLkJ93S4
