ReplyDeleteContra dancing is a folk dance, similar to square dancing. You boobs.
ReplyDeleteWell, speaking as a Contra dancer, I dance while playing Contra. The traditional Contra dance garb is camo pants, combat boots, tank top or no shirt at all, and a headband. The Contra dance move is violent hip thrusts to the beat of whatever level you are currently on.
DeleteI have also engaged in Contra dancing, but as it was to a tune from a PlayStation 2 game, it wasn't in the traditional style Greg describes. Instead, upon discovering the Neo Contra track Helicarrier while listening to another VGM podcast (PixelTunes Radio), I immediately launched a solo mosh pit in my laundry room. This more interpretative modern style could be called Neo Contra dancing to differentiate it from the stricter traditional genre.
DeleteAh yes, I've heard rumor of this Neo Contra dance. All the hip youngsters are doing it. Helicarrier is a great track to thrash to, perfect for the style you describe. I must learn the steps to keep up with the times.
DeleteGreat episode guys! I especially loved Chi Guy's VGM Karaoke. Hilarious!
ReplyDeleteThanks! (Chi Guy here) I had hoped to entertain with my first original VGM karaoke, but also to legitimize my position that pineapple is a perfectly acceptable ingredient for pizza. The way I see it, until someone pours their heart and soul into a love song for NOT using that topping, our side wins the debate.
DeleteI don't understand all the hate for pineapple and ham on pizza here in the US. It's a perfectly acceptable ingredient for pizza in Latin America. Down south, we eaters of pineapple on pizza face no negative judgement for our choice of pizza topping.
DeleteBig Swords was on point but the Uchuu Race track was a jam
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing all this quarter nexting etiquette but here in the big Apple there isn't much arcades. Only the big chains of Dave and busters, their machines only use the card system. I would like to know what's your etiquette for next when cards are involved.
ReplyDeleteGreat episode keep up the awesome work.
God that nexting story had me rolling.
ReplyDeleteYou guys ever feature music from Turbo Grafx game: Lords of Thunder?
