Episode 234: De Niro

The boys talk a bit about Robert De Niro and De Niro related things on Episode 234 and they even do some impressions of him.  Yet again, another Genesis versus Super Nintendo discussion/debate takes place at one point with regards to a specific track, so feel free to weigh in on that in the comments.  Full track listing below.

  4. Genesis Pac Man is a smoother sexier track, whereas the SNES version is tighter and funkier. I don’t think one is better than the other. It is interesting in this case the SNES version has more balls than the usually ballsier Genesis.
Battle Unite Zeoth track Brent mentioned sounded like an 80s song might be New Order’s Blue Monday. That is a commonly used bass line, but Blue Monday is what immediately popped in my head.
IMHO the Mortal Kombat tracks sound nothing alike. One sounds western and the other sounds Chinese or East Asian.
The piano sound in S.O.S.-Staff Roll reminds me of Harvest Moon.
LMH flexing hard with those game bargains.

  5. Pac-attack. I never heard this soundtrack before this episode, so when the genesis track came on I was groovin', truly enjoying. When the snes track came on I felt it was funkier. Tempo is the difference, the snes being slightly faster brings a sense of urgency and more exciting. I like both, similar to how I like sativa vs indica. One is chill mellow, the other energetic and visceral. Great tracks, both.

  6. Hi Keyglyph, would you consider doing top track mixtapes for whole batches of episodes? So just ones curated by yourself or the users. Like top songs from ep 1 thru 10, 11 thru 20, etc. Or smaller or wider ranges. I know we have the bois choices already, but it'd be cool to check out yours or the users. Then eventually have a tournament style bracket for top track. Thanks for all you do! I enjoy all the contents you put out.

  7. Hello long time user here and ive been saving up episodes to binge the. I just played this episode and the macross level 3 song really got my mind aching trying to remember what it sound like. And finally i remember the name. A minute in the macross song it the melody really sounds like or has similarities to super double dragon mission 4. Hope you guys check it out.
