Shooter and RPG music are the best type of video game music, in my opinion. They both make up the majority of my video game music CD collection. I still remember the first time I heard "Morning Music" play, while the Gradius arcade machine warmed up (as a youth) and just being in awe how catchy the tune was. Glad to see you guys revisiting shooter music again (and so soon too).
ReplyDeleteBrent played the Solar Jetman track from the mix I made! He even faded it out in the same spot. Weird, considering he hasn't listened to it yet.
ReplyDeleteI`m so glad you guys finally got on the Nerdist Network, keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteJust found your podcast (via your MPR interview). Now I have 63 episodes I need to get caught up on.
ReplyDeleteThanks for keeping people informed about the good ol' 16-bit and arcade music days

Brent said WHAT?!?! Rob, don't argue with him, just go with it! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to hear you sing the Mega (Drive) praises. That Genesis sound has a special place in my heart, but this show has just solidified to me how much good stuff there is out there on all the systems. For example, as I write this, in 2014, I just discovered Treasure Hunter G for the SFamicom through Brent playing it on LMH, and man is it good.
Treasure Hunter G - Emperor of Balladry is one of the best!
