Bonus: Brent Weinbach VGM Dance Mix Vol. 4

The Legacy Music Hour presents Brent Weinbach's fourth installment of continuous dance party music comprised of only 8-bit and 16-bit era video game music.  No remixes, no covers, no adaptations of non-video game music -just pure, original, dancy music from the Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, and more!

  1. Thnaks...oops, I mean thanks for putting Bubbleman's stage from Mega Man II in there. It's my favorite video game song. I love the splashy, watery drum beats. I go into a trance whenever I hear it, just like the episode of Seinfeld where Elaine's boyfriend goes into a trance when he hears the song "Desperado".

I accidently typed thnaks at the beginning of my post, but I may have just invented a new word. It kind of sounds like thanks and snacks mixed together. In fact, it could be a shortened version of the phrase, "Thanks for the snacks". Thnaks.

  2. Looks like the direct download link is either broken or just missing.

  3. The song preceding Duck Tales Transylvania stage reminded me of the Duck Tales level select screen (at one point it had that same kinda "beepy" sound). So that was a perfect follow up.

Which reminds me: the mysterious Duck Tales reference made in episode #142 was never revealed. What was that all about?

  5. The vaguely Michael Jackson-esque tones of Sonic 3's end theme made my hair stand on end! Given the severe limitations of the Genesis sampler, they REALLY got a lot of mileage from the hardware. These last two mixes have been RAD AS HELL, and I cannot recommend this show enough!

Many thanks from a grateful user in Canada,
    -Dave

  6. Allow me to join the inquisitive chorus of "what is that?!"... the 7:40 & 11:22 marks! I feel like these are classic games I should know. I'm drawing blanks & yet they've been stuck in my head since you posted this.

Also, the 15:29 mark reminds me of Chris & Cosey's "Hazey Daze", 1985 [entire album recommended]: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iO--SVW8wQk&list=PLsNB88nnkc4DKmT_YR9HYMWM9B5Su3DQl
