  1. Where exactly did you see that Masayuki Nagao did Desert Palace?

  3. Yeah, Jun Senoue did most of Sonic Adventure.

It's not plagiarism if it's your own material! haha

  4. I'm surprised there was no Knuckles' Chaotix (for the 32X attachment) music in the show. Yeah, it's not a 8 bit or 16 bit game, but it did use the Genesis sound hardware. Check out a sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-axPO7pwgg

  5. O i know its not Plagiarism i actually like it when they reuse music from older games and update it

  6. Yeah, I do too. But they can't just reuse the entire soundtrack! haha

  7. You guys should do a show that showcases a popular 8/16 bit tracks and how it evolved through current systems. Mario, Sonic, Final Fantasy (aka most things Square), and Castlevania (the clocktower theme, oh yeah!) would be prime grounds for an episode like that.

  9. You guys have probably the most geeky podcast I've ever heard. But please don't sing any more. Especially over tracks. It ruins it for me. I even said please. Please.

  10. This and the Rock episode are two of my favorites. Any chance we might see a return to the hyper-mammalian soundtrack?

  11. Hey Brent,

I found the youtube clip you were referring to in which you played a rendition of Marble Zone (Hilarious btw). Quick question though: could you please tell me what was played at 1:58? It's driving me crazy. I kinda feel like it could be Marble Zone, but I'm not sure.

    1. The music at 1:58 isn't from a video game. It's just the chords to an original composition by Brent. A disco song actually.

    2. What a tease!

Well, for what it's worth, I really enjoyed it. Had a kind of Vince Guaraldi feel to it. Well done!

  12. I played one of the Sonic games but only for a short time so I don't have any connection to music in this episode but I enjoyed it all the same.

Interesting note about Michael Jackson supposedly worked on the Sonic game.

Brent comments again about Guile's ending music sounds better on the SNES than Genesis. Of course, this goes back to his comment from an earlier epiode. This is just as funny as the first time I heard it.

Best line in the episode was Rob commenting on Super Mario Brothers not having any dating music, but it does have strung along music. It references what he said earlier what he said earlier in the episode about Princess Toad.

  13. Speaking of the Jacksons, it appears that Janet was playing Sonic on the Sega Master System becuase "Together Again" (released 1997) sounds exactly the same as "Bridge Zone" (released 1991)!
