Episode 195: Brent’s Recent Games
For Episode 195, Brent picks tracks he only recently discovered by playing through the actual games. Gabe also blesses the boys with various gifts due to this being the Christmas episode. Rob accidentally comes up with a new expression to describe things that are bonk. Trevor accidentally ruins a surprise for himself. And there’s a big debate about if a track played on the show is legal or not. Brent also plays a message Rob left on his answering machine, a name-that-tune situation which you can guess for yourself in comments section below. NOTE: In case there is any confusion, during Rob’s phone message, there’s a video game sound effect which was put in during the editing of this episode in order to censor a bad word Rob said during the message. That is, it wasn’t a sound effect Rob left while recording the message.

LMH Mixtape #64: Ninja Games
Just as there is a wide variety in ninja types (turtle ninjas, intergalactic ninjas, ninjas named Joe), so too is there great variety in the video game music of ninja-themed titles. As you listen through Brent and Rob's hand-picked tunes, many of which backed the adventures of some the greatest shadow assassins of all time, you might find yourself wondering where YOUR ninja future is headed. Will you become a legendary warrior after you graduate, or will you just stay at home, binging on smoke bombs and cereal? Ultimately it's up to you, so grab your diploma, throw your shuriken in the air, and try to make the most of it.

LMH Mixtape #63: Flying and Shooting 2

So clink your glasses in honor of the Legacy Music Hour, these tunes, and yourselves. May our worlds never be forgotten.

LMH Mixtape #62: Comic Books
Comic books were one of the primary sources of video game fodder in the 80s and 90s, and although neither Brent nor Rob were "comic book guys" growing up, they made sure to give the genre a proper focus. Now reissued as a mixtape, follow the tracks panel by panel and cover a wide variety of musical styles before slipping the MP3 back into its protective cardboard-backed plastic sleeve for safekeeping.

Episode 193: Best Of Year In Review 6
Time for another Legacy Music Hour year-end countdown! Brent and Rob share their top ten tracks of the year
(Episodes 181, and 183 through 192 -the closing track of 182 is possibly eligible as well). In case you don't know the rules, tracks chosen must be pieces of video game music they became
aware of only within the last year and that were played on the show. Plus, aside from Gabe and Trevor being present, the gang is joined by the hosts of The VGM Jukebox podcast, Emily and Josh. Emily also does the LMH Mixtapes and Josh often times contributes VGM Karaoke songs heard on The Legacy Music Hour. Thank you to all the support from the users over the years! Partial track

LMH Mixtape #61: Animals
Feel the Tiger Instinct all over again with this mixtape rendition of LMH Episode 61: Animals. Determining which games fit this theme was surprisingly complicated as Rob questioned whether monkeys were too evolutionarily similar to humans to qualify and Brent puzzled over what the protagonist of Sutte Hakkun even is. In the end, however, they settled on a setlist that represented a nice variety of musical genres as well as creatures great and small.

For one episode only, Brent and Rob do an entire focus on arcade pinball machine music. They limit the range to 1992 and before to preserve the legacy aesthetic usually featured on the show. Episode 191: Sensing Things
For Episode 191, Brent and Rob didn’t have a very good internet connection, so they didn’t use video to see each other (despite what's shown in the photo below). A lot of tributes on this episode, as well. Full track

Episode 190: Jokes
Brent and Rob record Episode 190 at the Hollywood Improv comedy club, the very place where they decided to start doing the podcast in the first place, seven years ago. Also, the boys open up some packages and ultimately find theirselves in a room of treasure. Full track

Episode 189: Keeping Things Up
It’s been a while since Brent and Rob have recorded an episode in different cities. Rob actually stays awake the entire time! The music keeps things moving. And everyone stays positive. That’s the theme of the show: Keeping Things Up (awake, in motion, and positive). So let this episode be a positive influence on you when you listen to it, or may it help you stay awake, or help you keep going, or all the above. And most of all, enjoy the music. Full track

LMH Mixtape #57: TurboGrafx-16
The Legacy Music Hour's first console focus was on the deliciously crunchy TurboGrafx-16. Although the system did very well in Japan as the PC Engine, its limited popularity in North America and Europe may have left you relatively underexposed to its fantastic sound. Starting to feel the TurboGrafx deficiency in your blood? Hook this mixtape directly into your veins and watch your vitals soar along with these fantastic jams.

Episode 188: Nexting Etiquette
In Episode 188, Brent and Rob talk about nexting etiquette, the do’s and don’ts of putting a quarter on an arcade cabinet to signify being next on the game. They also talk about “Contra dancing” and 1980’s interactions. There’s also another installment of Prizes From Gabe as well as a new user-submitted VGM Karaoke performance. At one point, Rob adopts a new console (as seen in the photo), and at another point, the boizz sing about Vanilla Ice. So nexting etiquette is hardly the subject of this episode -it’s a whole grab bag of stuff, including good video game music. Full track

Episode 187: Rob's World
Rob finally returns and has a LOT to share about what’s being going on in his life, in this somewhat manly themed episode of the Legacy Music Hour. Plus, a new segment: Prizes From Gabe. Legacy Music Hour sound engineer Gabe Castro is kind enough to give Brent and Rob some neat prizes. Also, another new segment: VGM Karaoke Face-Off. Two different people sing along different lyrics to the same video game music track, and everyone decides who did a better job. It’s a pretty action packed episode, not to mention the great music. NOTE: The farting noise in this episode is a sound the equipment was making -not one of the boizz cutting loose. Full track

LMH Mixtape #55: Fire and Lava
Lava levels have been a staple in video games since the early days, so of course the Legacy Music Hour needed a fire and lava focus of their very own. Now get toasty with Brent and Rob F. the Switch's picks all over again, this time in mixtape form, as you carefully platform your way through some of the best video game tunes to feature words like "blaze," "burning," and "inferno" in their titles.
