Episode 118: Power Pad Games

Power Pad games are the focus of Episode 118.  Originally manufactured by Bandai and called the Family Trainer (or Family Fun Fitness in North America), Nintendo purchased the rights to the NES accessory and rebranded it as the Power Pad.  There are eleven games total that came out for the Power Pad, and half of them were only released in Japan.  Almost all of them were developed by Human Entertainment.  Anyway, this is a very niche category for the Legacy Music Hour, and at one point, it even becomes more specific as a Meiro Daisakusen focus.  But neat music all around.  Full track listing below.

Episode 117: 1990

The year is 1990.  Wilson Phillips is on top, Full House is booming, and the president is getting saved by bad dudes.  Brent and Rob, along with guests Jerry Rocha and Andrew DeWitt from the video game podcast Gamedians, focus on games only released in 1990.  The boys put their acting chops to test in this episode and many laughs are had.  Full track listing below.

Switch's Legacy Music Dance Party, a dance party featuring ONLY video game music from the 8-bit and 16-bit era.  No remixes, no covers, no adaptations of non-video game music -just pure, original, dancy music from the Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, and more!  And this time, it's in an aquarium!

Plus, special video game music related contests and prizes! There's a video game music karaoke contest (VGM Karaoke) and a video game music dance battle (Legacy Dance Party: Battle Mode). Sign up at the beginning of the night to become a possible contestant (or sign up NOW by emailing legacymusichour@gmail.com).

Note about VGM Karaoke: You can sing along to a song of your choice with either prepared written lyrics, lyrics you make up on the spot, or humming along gibberish.  Audience will vote by applause on the winner, based on overall performance but mainly ability to sing along with the melody.

Episode 114: Neo Geo

Neo Geo is the focus of Episode 114.  Neo Geo, the infamous video game console which sold for $1000 with games at $200 a piece.  This is the first time Brent and Rob play Neo Geo tracks on the podcast and they dedicate a whole episode to it.  The also restrict their choices to titles released from 1990-1993 in order to preserve the "legacy" aesthetic.  There's some really good music in this episode, so check it out!  Full track listing below.
