congrats on Earthbound, its been my favorite game since it came out years ago, and it also features my favorite soundtrack of all time!
ReplyDeletei suggest playing through the most excellent fan translation of Mother 3 for Gameboy Advance when yr ready... I know Brent only likes to play on the original system/s, and its totally possible to play Mother 3 on an actual GBA or DS via flash-ROM cartridge (i played it this way).
LOL I remember arguing w/ a couple kids once when i was about 7, about how Transformers or Thundercats could both beat the shit out of any G.I. Joe characters because they were "just army guys".
ReplyDeleteI think you guys stumbled on to another topic with this one: Music That Doesn't Belong. An episode about music that doesn't fit its game--that's really inappropriate or counter-intuitive with regard to genre, gameplay, mood, etc.--would be awesome.
ReplyDeleteFor the entire Super Street Fighter II SNES soundtrack Yoko Shimomura composed all the tracks except for the following.
ReplyDeleteSagat, T. Hawk, and Dee Jay's Stages ~ Isoe Abe
Fei Long and Cammy's Stages = Syun Nishigaki
Fei Long and Cammy stages may be some of the best
DeleteAt the end there I think the two of you were looking for either "Brigadier Brent" or "Wing Commander Weinbach."
ReplyDeleteBrigadier Brent came to me, too. I couldn't figure out the SSFII Guile music; the pads and brass definitely sounded SNES but the drum samples were better than I'm used to hearing. It didn't quite sound good enough for arcade, and definitely better samples than the Genesis could pull off. But a good track.
DeleteI was hoping to have heard from Ambition of Ceasar I and II from Micronet(Brent, your mention of Micronet got my hopes up), or Herzog Zwei. But it was a groovy episode overall.
