Episode 235: The Saga Of DJ Baby T-Rex

Emily joins Brent, Rob, and Gabe on this episode and they happen to record on April 1, so a good bit of April fooling takes place.  Rob creates a new character named DJ Baby T-Rex, a radio disc jockey who had a thriving on-air career but eventually moves on to other things.  It’s kind of a saga actually.  A legendary saga.  And Brent beatboxes at one point, by the way.  Full track listing below.

  1. The diddy you were thinking of was Chrono Trigger OST - 02 Chrono Trigger about 25 seconds in from Ultima: Exodus - Tsugutoshi Goto - Menu/King - Newtopia Planning/Pony Canyon - NES - 1989.

  2. Hmmm, I was struck by the similarity to Chrono Trigger - 3-04 - Time Circuits. I heard what Brent heard right away...

  4. this track from the Turtles 2 score is pretty simuilar to the Baby T-rex one, including the stuttering, exclamations of awesomeness and the "b-word" https://youtu.be/VrBV3kKaipc copyright claims? was it even legal to be played on the show???

  5. I was surprised how much space I'm imaginining was used for that Baby T-Rex song with the voice samples, though I know Jurassic Park II on the SNES has a fully voiced opening cutscene that I was always impressed by.

Loved the R-Type selection a few episodes back. Another crazy gem I've discovered recently is the Magician soundtrack on NES by Neil Baldwin, but particularly the final boss battle, Abadon (https://youtu.be/CqvhxATniuM?t=2289).

    Keep rockin' on!

  8. I had the same problem with Phantasy Star on the SMS. The battery was dead and no saves. I did a hack using a capsella battery pack, slapped two AA batteries and soldered the darn thing to the game. I was able to complete the game with saves... I was around 11 years old... good memories

  9. The Magic of Scheherazade's song reminds me of this awesome horror game for the DS thats inspired by Dragon Quest as a cursed game. Nanashi no Game - Nameless Theme, its a horror game but the theme is quite melancholic, sweet and nostalgic sounding like The Magic of Scheherazade's Overworld.
