LMH Mixtape #4: Junko Tamiya

Episode four marked the first occurrence of the "composer focus", an entire installment dedicated to showcasing the works of one musician.  The tradition began with Junko Tamiya, and although a few selections by other composers sneaked into the original episode, the errors were excluded this time around to produce an all-Tamiya mixtape.

NOTE TO THE DETAIL-ORIENTED:  Bionic Commando's "Area 1" was composed by Harumi Fujita, but Junko Tamiya's involvement as its arranger for the NES port merited its inclusion on the setlist.

Episode 84: Capcom

Popular game company Capcom is the focus of Episode 84.  So many games, so much music, where does one start?  Founded relatively late in the video game world (1983), Capcom certainly had a hefty roster of female composers, more so than any other company at the time, and so this episode is almost a celebration of women in video game music as well a company focus.  Brent and Rob explore a lot of the more obscure Capcom titles, but throw in a couple Mega Man tracks for good measure.  Also, even though no DuckTales music is played on this episode, the long-standing mystery of its composer is finally uncovered!  Full track listing below.

Episode 51: Girls, Girls, Girls

Lost Level: Fighting Games

Episode 11: Fighting Games was originally supposed to be released on January 12, 2011, but due to technical difficulties, it was never released.  There were problems with the recording device and all of the audio cut out at various times throughout the episode.  Episode 11 then became known as "The Lost Level."  See here:

However, as part of their 30th episode celebration, The Legacy Music Hour is releasing The Lost Level.  All of the the music has been replaced with clean, stereo tracks, and so now, the only problem left with the episode is the talking which skips out a lot, making it hard to understand what is being said.  But, at least the music sounds good.  The following is the original description for this episode:

Rob and Brent burn the midnight oil and explore fighting games in this extended edition of The Legacy Music Hour.  They also introduce a new segment called "Mame That Chune."  Full track listing below.
