I'm not sure whether I like PSTom or EOTom better, but let's go with EOTom for now. I was PS (pleasantly surprised) with the large amount of 8-bit goodness in this episode! But, I'm not only an 8-bit guy, and give equal opportunity to 16-bit jams. Anyway, keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteReally liked the music on this week's episode, it felt like a nice change of pace, though I'm not sure why? Maybe a little more light-hearted and "video game"y after the RPG episodes.
ReplyDeleteI definitely think that Last Crusade is the best one too, and I don't think that's as rare as an opinion as you might think. Love the temple where the cup is, and of course "He chose... poorly"
The Flintstones: Surprise at Dino Peak is actually a really good game, if neither of you have played it. I had it way back in the day on NES and loved it. A great platformer with some pretty unique minigame elements. Give it a shot if you can find it cheap enough!
Rob - Great call on the Kumite Song from Bloodsport in comparison to Space Invaders '91. I could totally hear it once I made the connection. Great movie.
ReplyDeleteI've been listening to a lot of Taito arcade soundtracks lately, and this episode complements what I've been listening to perfectly. Out of all the Taito arcade tracks I've been listening to, Metal Black (composer Yasuhisa Watanabe aka Yack) has some of the best music I've heard! Check out some of his work in the game:
