Episode 141: Manga 2

Manga-based video games is the topic of Episode 141 (as it was for Episode 97).  Once again, Rob is absent, and this time, there isn't even a guest, so, Brent is totally alone on this one.  It's just Brent and some 8/16-bit era video game music and some provocative thoughts regarding Sailor Moon.  Full track listing below.

  1. ^The saddest picture I've ever seen. :(

    Where is Rob???

  2. Great episode, Brent. Sometimes you have to fly solo and the songs were really good in this show. A lot of games I had never heard of before, so that was cool. Ranma 1/2: Chounai Gekitou Hen did remind me of Danny Elfman or something from Tiny Toon Adventures.

  3. oh, damn I'm a little behind on my episodes and if I would have known if it was Manga focused- I would have recommended the Doraemon games on Super Famicom

    - Slick Vic

  4. Btw- you got some cool looking wallpaper there Brent

  5. I hope Rob gets "well" soon. We miss him. Good show though.

  6. Am I crazy, or did the song from the Conan game sound very similar to the NES Maniac Mansion theme?

  7. Sad Brent is sad, but why does it look like a pink, neon sign is in the room with you?

"Let off some steam Bennett" is from the movie Commando, not Running Man.

  8. Brent, you may have gone with RoboCop because of the "I'D BUY THAT FOR A DOLLAR!" exclamation from the Smash TV host...maybe? Yes.

  9. It actually is "Kanagushi"! I was shocked. "Kanaguchi" sounds so much more....right. Plus, kana+guchi in Japanese would mean "Goldmouth" or "Nuggetmouth", which sounds way more awesome than "Kanagushi" (金串--"Gold Skewer" in Japanese).

P.S. I love how Rob is almost there in a ghost sense, i.e. when you ask him questions, or ask the users if they think Rob would like "X"...pure gold man.
