  2. Great episode. :) That was a pretty good jam on the Dragonball Z game, I'll have to check out those soundtracks.

I've been listening to this NES game I played when I was like a child, and it has some pretty great tunes:

Makes me nostalgic in a crazy way but they are pretty good jams too!

This is a pretty great tune too, and without checking I hazard they are both made by the same person, or at least both Westerners

    1. What a coincidence. Before reading this comment, earlier today, I realized that I never looked at the Sesame Street games for the TV Shows episode, so I checked out this game's soundtrack. It's unmistakably David Wise.

    2. It's weird to think I've been listening to David Wise for so long. I remember playing the Sesame Street games when I was 6 or 7 and I'm 28 now.

That's a pretty huge length of time for a musician to be "in your life"!

  3. VIRT: I'm on it!

Marching bands may be dorky, but some of the best drummers I've ever heard were marching band drummers. Steve Gadd was a marching band drummer, and he's amazing. My friend Jeff also played high school band percussion, he's also amazing. When you're in band, it teaches you finesse. And there are three drummers in the world: Power drummer, finesse drummer, and one that does both. My favorite drummers can beat the hell out of their drums and also can pull off the smooth stuff (Damon Che from Don Caballero). How many jazz drummers were in their high school band? Most of them is my guess.

In F1Grand Prix 3 I hear The Boys Are Back In Town (Thin Lizzy), the guitar duet at the end. Not 100%, but it was what I heard.

Moto Roader wins best track of the episode, but I don't hear Whitesnake or Poison, I hear Orchestral Manouevres in the Dark or Psychedelic Furs. Definitely synth pop or new wave.

Toshiaki Sakoda might be Yngwie Malmsteen in disguise, judging by that track.

Could you use your composer hotphone to ring up Akio Dobashi and Noriyuki Takahashi and ask them why Lagrange Point is so amazing? When do we get a game focus on that? The whole soundtrack is on YouTube, you know.

  4. I think the intro to Moto Roader sounds a bit like the first vocal hook in The Buggles' Video Killed the Radio Star, but I know there's another song that sounds more like it, it's killing me. And I think the voicing is similar to a track from Super Double Dragon (mission 4) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dk1ZsTYLDKU

  5. "Heat of the moment" by Asia. The Moto Roader track sounds like that to me.

  6. I am Super Late (the SNES sequel to just Late) to this, but I came here to see if anyone suggested either The Buggles or Asia for what the Moto Roader track sounded like. I always heard the two as really similar.
